The Farmer's Walk Bed&Breakfast - Proudfoot, Sandra Small - Orangeville Ontario Canada For many years I was exposed, as a quiltmaker, quilt designer and teacher to the chemicals in textiles without being aware that these chemicals would eventually produce a serious toxic reaction in my body to anethesia in 1985. Since then I have tried to deal with extreme reactions to sensitivities relating to petro chemicals. The cloth that I used was primarily polyester-cotton and petroleum-based. The medical profession does not support Environmental Illness; the government does not choose to acknowledge it to the extent of supporting it through our medical support system; the drug companies do not support it as the only way in which to deal with this illness is through alternative medicine. Therefore, sufferers like myself are told: it is all in your head. The psychiatrists and allergists have a field day with people like myself. Surely the Freedom of Rights gives sufferers like myself a right to our dignity, acknowledgement that chemicals in our environment can and do cause illness and that EI is a legitimate dysfunction. |

Mrs. - Klar, Lori - Lebanon Connecticut United States Look at the world as a sanctuary. We all want peace in the world and for people to stop the violence and killing. However what then are we doing to our world killing each other by polluting our environment making our citizens sick and who benefits noone. Do we want our children to grow up in an even sicker world then we are in now. It is time to realize as long as we pollute our rivers, oceans and air not one of us is safe from the possibility of a chronic illness. Why do you think so many illnesses are on the rise it is not only want we eat but the air that we breathe. I want a safer America for our generation and those to come. My concern is NOT just from terrorism but from the unsafe environment many Americans live in everyday. Let us do something to improve our health and not by medications and prescriptions but rather by focusing on the real reasons our polluted environment. |

Mr. - Patrick, Phillippe, Casanova - Fairfax Virginia United States of America Dear Prime Ministers, Presidents and National Leaders of the world,
I urgently request your absolute attention to a serious issue, an issue that George W.
“Multiple Chemical Sensitivity” (MCS) is a condition in which sufferers are said to be 100-1,000 times more sensitive to common/every-day chemicals, such as those in perfumes, colognes, hair sprays, auto exhaust, paint fumes, nail polish and so forth, with exposure causing a variety of debilitating symptoms.
There is apparently extreme controversy over whether or not the condition is physiological (physical) or psychogenic in origin.
As of April of 2002 there had been 694 articles on MCS published (with 404 1st authors and 263 publishers). This does not include articles published in the journal of clinical ecology. These articles favor the physical view over the psychogenic view by ratio of 2:1.
In the 1980s the US congress was urged to do something about MCS and did nothing. In 2004, the MCS Beacon of Hope proposed a petition on MCS that president Bush refused to sign. This becomes very interesting when one notes that Dick Cheney had secret meetings with polluters to re-write U.S. environmental laws and it is many environmental pollutants that trigger and initiate MCS. Bush also has been known to cave into the chemical industry.
MCS is costing nations around the globe billions due to disabled workers. An estimated 10 million people in the US alone are disabled from MCS.
I would be more than happy to provide detailed documentation to any interested party. Note that I am not affiliated with any organization. I am an independent researcher with personal connections to MCS.
So, Presidents, Prime Ministers, and Leaders of the world,
I implore you, please sign this petition and help us respond to the MCS epidemic effectively.
Sincerely,
Pat Casanova. |
